AIR OPTIX® are state of the art breathable contact lenses designed for daily wear but with the flexibility of occasional overnight wear for up to 6 nights (as directed by your eye care practitioner).
A revolutionary Silicone Hydrogel technology transmits up to 5 times more oxygen to your eyes than traditional soft lenses. So your eyes are better protected from the signs and symptoms of lack of oxygen - dryness, irritation, end-of-day discomfort and redness. And since, on average, contact lens users wear their lenses for 11 hours a day, this is a huge plus.
AIR OPTIX® lenses have a unique surface treatment that is proven to provide a cleaner, more wettable lens for improved comfort.
AIR OPTIX® NIGHT&DAY® contact lenses may be worn 24 hours a day, for up to 30 days and nights - even while you sleep.
They were created from a revolutionary material unlike that of ordinary contacts and designed specifically for long-term continuous wear. The lens allows an incredible 6 times more oxygen to reach the cornea of the eye than traditional soft disposables do, letting your eyes breathe all night and day.
If suitable you can pop them in and leave them in for up to one month.
AIR OPTIX® Individual lenses are perfect if you need a completely custom-made solution for all your lens needs, or have a high prescription. If you have previously not been able to get modern contact lenses in your prescription AIR OPTIX® Individual may be the answer.
Like other AIR OPTIX® lenses, their construction from Silicone Hydrogel allows up to 5 times more oxygen transmissibility than traditional soft lenses, protecting your eyes better from the signs and symptoms of lack of oxygen - dryness, irritation, end-of-day discomfort and redness.
AIR OPTIX® Individual lenses have been designed for wear on a daily basis for up to 3 months, and created using state-of-the-art InnoLathe™ technology.
So the wide range of customizable powers and fittings available with AIR OPTIX® Individual provides more choice and flexibility than any other Silicone Hydrogel contact lens.

"I moved here from out of town and since coming to Koby Karp (Doctors Eye Institute) for my contacts I now have a different type that better suits my needs. They fit better and are more comfortable than any I've worn before. I think it’s because they took the time to get me into the right type of lenses that worked best for me. Now I wouldn't go anywhere else."

"There are so many choices in contact lenses now. When I first started wearing them it was so much different. Now I can put them in and forget about them for at least two weeks! Dr. Stroud took the time to ask me questions that helped me choose these lenses and I'm so glad he did. Then he told me I would love them and he was right!"

Rigid Gas Permeable - (RGP) have replaced standard hard lenses. They generally provide crisper, clearer vision than some soft lenses particularly for patients with corneal irregularities or with keratoconus and are the easiest to care for. RGP lenses tend to be more durable and resistant to deposit buildup and are a low risk for causing infections.
Daily Wear Soft Lenses are larger in size and are very popular because they are easier to adjust to than rigid permeable lenses. Since they are harder to dislodge they are often used in sports. These lenses should be replaced every year.
Extended Wear Lenses - Usually worn up to 7 days without removal or cleaning. There is, however, an increased risk for infection with these lenses. They are available in rigid gas permeable or soft lenses and replacement is needed on a yearly basis.
Overnight Lenses - Because of the advances in lens material and oxygen permeability, extended wear (overnight) contact lenses are now available in options which have been approved by the FDA for periods of up to 30 days at a time.
Toric - Designed to correct astigmatism problems. They are available in both rigid gas permeable (RGP) and soft lenses. Soft Toric contact lenses are also available in larger ranges of parameters and sizes than they were in the past. This is helping to comfortably accommodate patients with astigmatism.
Oxygen permeable - The contact lenses of the past created a barrier to the natural flow of oxygen between the eyes and the air around them. However, with the event of more oxygen permeable contact lenses, patients are experiencing less and less of the following symptoms related to corneal oxygen deficiency: end-of-day discomfort, irritation, dryness, redness and blurred vision.
Disposable Soft Lenses - Wear them up to 14 days and then simply throw them away.
Monovision Contact Lenses - One lens for distance, one for near is a very simple way to replace bifocal spectacles. This can be done in rigid gas permeable or soft lenses.
Bifocal - Some of the most recent and exciting advances in the contact lens world involve new lenses for persons who require bifocal spectacles and for those who have high amounts of astigmatism.
Multifocal - Multifocal soft contact lenses are also helping to correct both distance and near vision in patients over the age of 40.
Cosmetic - Colored contact lenses are also available through Doctors Eye Institute, if the desire of the patient is cosmetic as well as visual. A popular take on traditional colored contact lenses, particularly around the Halloween holiday, are the Wild Eyes lenses.
Since contact lenses are still medical devices, an appropriate fitting session with adequate follow- up is required by state law before supply lenses can be purchased, and before contact lens prescriptions will be released. At each fitting, trial lenses are usually dispensed to be used by the patient at no additional cost to them. In this manner, the patient is able to assess and evaluate the effectiveness and comfort of the proposed lenses before purchasing any. Many patients who have been unable to wear lenses in the past are doing well and enjoying the freedom from spectacles, which contacts can provide, after being fit at Doctors Eye Institute.
Along with your contact lens fitting at Doctors Eye Institute, you will be given samples of some of the most advanced and efficient contact lens cleaning systems on the market today, in accordance with the type of contacts you are fitted with, and to meet your personal needs.
Appropriate solutions provide the safeguard of cleanliness and hygiene for contact lens wearers to remain comfortable and contamination free. Advances in materials for precision lenses have made contact lenses an option for more and more people.
